Strategies to Stay Calm and Focused

Test anxiety is real, but it doesn't have to defeat you. With the right mindset and physical strategies, you can minimize stress and maximize performance on your RBT practice test and real exam.

Physical Preparation

Get a good night's sleep. Do not study late into the night. Eat a healthy breakfast with protein. Your brain needs fuel. Avoid excessive caffeine, which can increase jitters. Self-care is study care.

Positive Self-Talk

Replace thoughts like "I'm going to fail" with "I have studied hard and I know this material." Visualize yourself passing. Confidence improves recall.

Breathing Techniques

If you feel panic rising during the exam, stop for 30 seconds. Close your eyes. Take three deep breaths: inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4, exhale for 4. This resets your nervous system. A calm brain is a thinking brain.
