What is Prompt Fading?
Prompt Fading is the systematic removal of a prompt across successive trials.
Goal: Transfer control from the Prompt to the SD.
Common Procedures
- Most-to-Least: Full Physical -> Partial Physical -> Verbal -> None.
- Least-to-Most: Wait -> Verbal -> Gestural -> Physical.
- Time Delay: Wait 0 seconds -> Wait 2 seconds -> Wait 5 seconds.
Time Delay (Constant vs. Progressive)
- Constant Time Delay: You always wait a fixed time (e.g., 3 seconds) before prompting.
- Progressive Time Delay: You gradually increase the wait time (0s, 2s, 4s, 10s) to push for independence.
