What are Mass Trials?
Mass Trial (MT) means presenting the same target SD repeatedly in a row.
Example: "Touch Blue", "Touch Blue", "Touch Blue", "Touch Blue".
We use this for New Skills or when a child is struggling. It builds momentum.
What are Distractor Trials (Random Rotation)?
Random Rotation (RR) means mixing the target SD with other mastered targets.
Example: "Touch Blue", "Clap hands", "What is your name?", "Touch Blue", "Touch Nose".
We use this to test for Discrimination (does he really know Blue, or is he just touching the only card on the table?) and Mastery.
RBT Practice Exam Tip
If the question says "The RBT asks the client to touch the car 10 times in a row," that is Mass Trial.
