Why Review Records?
Before starting a case, we review Medical, Educational, and Historical records. Why?
- Medical: Rule out seizures, dental pain, allergies.
- Educational: What did they learn in school? What behaviors happen there?
- Historical: What worked in the past? What failed?
For the RBT practice test: Ethical codes require us to check for medical causes first before treating it as a behavior problem.
RBT Role
You should read the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) and recent session notes before every session. This is your form of "Reviewing Records."
